Indeed, the most important and unique aspect of this oil management system is that it provides an adequate solution to oil starvation under very heavy braking conditions. Racingline has learned from motorsport experience that these EA888.3 engines tend to collect a large volume of oil in front of the cylinder head during heavy and prolonged braking. At best, this can lead to clouds of white smoke coming from the exhaust. At worst, without oil returning to the sump, the engine can momentarily ‘run dry’ – enough to have devastating consequences for your engine’s internal components. Which is not really a good thing for your vehicle! It is therefore not surprising that Racingline shares this same oil management concept with Volkswagen Motorsport, Audi Sport and Cupra for TCR racing cars. The powerful PCV block forces oil back into the catcher under heavy braking to solve this problem once and for all.
