About the Spec range:


The SPEC range is divided into 5 main families:

The simple clutches, with the original design. They have the same dimensions as your original clutch. They are sometimes sold alone and can therefore be mounted with the original flywheel. Sometimes it will even be proposed a single mass flywheel if available. You can then compose a complete kit. You will then be allowed to associate a Spec clutch with a dual mass flywheel, or a single mass Spec clutch with another brand if it has the original dimensions. Clutches are in most cases available from stage 1 to stage 5. Stage 1, 2 and 2+ are damped (if already original), with relatively soft materials, they allow you to keep a very good driving comfort. Ideal for an original vehicle or stage 1 type preparation. The stages 3 and 3+ are for an advanced use, ideal for a nice stage 2 type preparation (stage 3 in multi-pin and 3+ full disc) while remaining damped (if it is already the case of origin). The 4 and 5 are non-damped for a race use (4 in multi-pin and 5 full and concave). For a purely track use, we recommend a single mass aluminum and steel flywheel for a mixed use.

Simple clutches, with a specific SPEC design. Clutches and/or flywheels with a simplified design, they are not compatible with the original flywheel. More resistant because they often have a simplified pressure plate (without a self-adjusting mechanism), they are developed to eliminate the perfectible design of the original design. To be mounted only in Spec single mass clutch/flywheel pack. Clutches are in most cases available from stage 1 to stage 5.  Stage 1, 2 and 2+ are damped (if already original), with relatively soft materials, they allow you to keep a very good driving comfort. Ideal for an original vehicle or stage 1 type preparation. The stages 3 and 3+ are for an advanced use, ideal for a nice preparation type stage 2 (stage 3 in multi-pin and 3+ full disc) while remaining damped (if it is already the case of origin). 4 and 5 are non-damped for a race use (4 in multi-pin and 5 full and concave). For a purely track use, we advise you a mono-mass flywheel Aluminum and Steel for a mixed use

Carbon clutches: Light and resistant, these multi-disc packs offer incredible lightness and resistance. At the top of the current technology, they are perfectly adapted to hyper-prepared vehicles and intended for high level competition.

Mini-Twin clutches: Light and reduced, they are a perfect solution for a vehicle of advanced preparation being used for a rather sustained circuit. It offers a different number of discs depending on its finish (2 discs = R-trim, D-trim or H-trim or 3 discs in X-trim), but also a different diameter depending on its use (Street, Race, Cross, Drag, Time attack...etc...). Ideal for small, powerful, lively and reactive.

Super-Twin clutches: Complete pre-assembled multi-disc packs, these kits are designed for use on very large preparations. Very resistant and designed with materials of great resistance, they are perfectly adapted to a daily use, without big loss of comfort. Ideal for a Daily because well muscled.


Some practical information:

  • Be careful with the chosen torque resistance (the clutch stage). The indicated torque is the MAXIMUM supported torque. Always choose a safety margin of at least 20% more. If the disc "freezes" during use, it is because you have chosen a stage that is too low. This will not be covered by the warranty.
  • The slaves are not included !!!!  Are included shims for height adjustment if necessary, the centering tool and screws if they must differ from the original. We invite you to wait for the reception of the package to check the contents before the assembly.
  • The clutch plates can be delivered either damped or non-damped. This choice is made by Spec, to get the best performance. If you have a preference on the type of disc, please specify it when ordering and we will do it only if technically possible.
  • Les kits embrayages sont conçus pour des véhicules montés strictement comme à l'origine. Si vous avez une boite de vitesse changée par un autre modèle, ou un volant moteur différent de l'origine, il est impératif de nous le préciser à la commande. Les embrayages et volant moteurs étant fabriqués à la commande, ils ne sont ni repris ni échangés.
  • Be careful to choose stage 5 type products. The disc being concave, it makes a big whistling at low engine speed. With the speed of rotation it flattens and the noise disappears.

The installation of a single mass flywheel reveals the rolling noise of the crankshaft and the inertia of the flywheel which are no longer absorbed by the dual mass. A rolling noise is then heard in neutral or when disengaging the clutch. This is a normal effect that is important to know.

To communicate to us with the order:

  • - Month and year the vehicle was put on the road
  • - Exact motorization (cubic capacity and power).
  • - Engine torque (if vehicle prepared).
  • - Fuel if necessary (gasoline or diesel) example: BMW 530, 320...etc...
  • - Number of gears of the gearbox
  • - Mounting on the original flywheel or on a single mass flywheel (specify the brand).
