Les barres latérales sont vendues par paire, pour pouvoir équiper le côté gauche et droit du véhicule.
Certaines barres, notamment intérieures, nécessitent de percer des trous pour les fixer. C'est aussi le cas de certaines barres moteur, qui doivent passer sous la baie de parebrise, ce qui nécessite de la découpe de tôle.
