Las barras laterales se venden por pares, para poder equipar el lado izquierdo y el derecho del vehículo.
Algunas barras, en particular las interiores, requieren taladrar orificios para su fijación. También es el caso de algunas barras de motor, que deben pasar bajo el hueco del parabrisas, lo que exige recortar chapa.
