• The EA888 engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that is part of the Volkswagen EA888 engine family. It was launched in 2008 as a replacement for the 2.0 liter EA113 engines.
• The EA888 engine has undergone three generations of modifications during its production. The first generation (EA888 Gen 1) has a cast iron cylinder block with a cylinder spacing of 88 mm and a height of 220 mm.
