We are sometimes asked the difference between a CE-approved line and one that is not. We give you more information here.

We need to know we're selling two types of exhaust. Exhausts that have a silencer in less or that modify a filter element (anti-pollution); and lines with an identical number of silencing machines or an effective filter element.

The first exhaust category cannot be approved because the manufacturing principle is too far from the original exhaust. In the second case, certain products Maybe.

Some, but not all. And that's where things get complicated. Getting approval is not so simple. It is not enough to meet conditions and enter a specifications. An approval is paid, and it is quite expensive and complicated. As a result, manufacturers of "sport" parts must use an independent laboratory and pay it. They therefore do not take a lot of risks and do not present anything, or just the products they are certain to pass the tests.

Therefore, there is very much possibility of approved products due to the cost of this operation and the uncertainty of the results on certain products. And it is more complicated on pieces that affect pollution (discata, defap, sports cata). All denied.

But what difference between an approved line and one that is not?

Unsubscribed line is prohibited on open road. It can pass the CT if it is a half-line or a sports cata, but will not pass it so decata or too loud (at the controller's discretion). In France, the CT does not require the registration document for the products you mount, unlike Belgium for example.

It should be noted that driving with a non-registered sport exhaust on the road can cause you trouble with the law enforcement if you have control (mainly for the sound gene of certain lines). But also in the event of injury; insurance can put you in trouble. It is also sometimes the case of dealers, on vehicles still under warranty.

The Homologuée line makes less noise, brings less performance during a preparation, but will not worry about this guy.

Be careful, these remarks only engage us, if you pass the CT with a Sport line and you are recaled, we will not be responsible. It is imperative that you first obtain information from stakeholders (your TB centre, your concession, your insurer...and...)
