EGR blanking plate 2.0 HDi/TDCi/JTD

EGR delete for 2.0 HDi / TDCi 136 hp engines

This laser-cut 304 stainless steel plate, made in France, blocks the exhaust gas recirculated by the EGR valve. The result: a cleaner air/fuel mixture, better intake breathing, more torque and less carbon build-up. Stainless steel does not rust or warp with heat, so the plate stays sealed over time.

Solid plate or drilled flange: two versions

• Blanking plate (solid): fully stops exhaust gas recirculation.
• Partial flange (drilled): lets a small gas flow through, reducing the risk of ECU detection.

Warning light: what you need to know

On these engines (mostly from 2004), the ECU may detect the lack of EGR flow with the solid plate: the engine warning light may come on and the engine may enter limp mode. In that case, plan a remap disabling the EGR function, or choose the drilled flange version.

Why block off the EGR valve?

The EGR valve feeds part of the exhaust gas back into the intake to reduce nitrogen oxides. On the 2.0 HDi / TDCi it clogs with carbon, especially in town driving: warning light, P0400 / P0401 / P0403 codes, loss of power, hesitation, black smoke. Cleaning often lasts only a few thousand kilometres. Blocking it off improves engine efficiency and available torque.

Fitting

The fitting direction is shown on the product photos: an arrow or drawing acts as instructions. Remove the valve, insert the plate, refit to factory torque. Take the opportunity to clean the intake pipe.
